Role: Visualization Supervisor Production Type: Feature Film
Synopsis: A vengeful fairy is driven to curse an infant princess, only to discover that the child may be the one person who can restore peace to their troubled land.
The Maleficent production was split between London and Los Angeles. I was responsible for the Los Angeles team. We did a wide variety of scenes and shots for the film. Thorn walls, vines attacking armies, floating people, talking crows, ferries, creatures, princesses… you name it. This production was unique because it was very, very art direction heavy. Everything in the movie was stylized and done in a way to give the look a deep fantasy, almost animated quality. I enjoyed the dark nature of the film being told from the perspective of a “villain”.
